MES Arts & Science College Launches Five-Day Faculty Development Programme on Future-Ready Teaching

Perinthalmanna, July 13: With a strong focus on preparing educators for the rapidly evolving landscape of higher education, the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of MES Arts & Science College, Perinthalmanna is organizing a Five-Day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) 2026 from July 13 to 17, 2026. The programme, themed “Empowering Educators for the Future,” brings together distinguished academicians and industry experts to equip faculty members with contemporary knowledge and practical skills in teaching, research, innovation, mentorship, and outcome-based education.

The Faculty Development Programme has been carefully designed to address some of the most significant developments in higher education, including the integration of Artificial Intelligence in classrooms, modern research methodologies, intellectual property rights, student mentorship, holistic well-being, and Outcome-Based Education (OBE). Through expert-led sessions, the initiative aims to strengthen teaching practices while fostering academic excellence and innovation among educators.

The inaugural session on July 13 focuses on “AI Integration & Digital Pedagogy,” led by Mr. Mohammed Jabir, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science, Majlis Arts & Science College, Puramannur (Autonomous). The session explores the use of Artificial Intelligence tools in teaching and learning, digital classroom innovation, and strategies for enhancing student engagement through technology.

On July 14, participants will attend a session on “Modern Research Methodology & Publications” by Dr. Shabanamol S, Research Director and Head of the PG and Research Department of Microbiology at SAFI Institute of Advanced Study (Autonomous). The programme covers research design, academic writing, publication strategies, and best practices for producing quality research.

The third day, July 15, is dedicated to Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), featuring Adv. Susan Anil Thomas, Advocate at the Manjeri District Court. The session introduces faculty members to patents, copyrights, trademarks, and the growing importance of protecting academic innovations and research outputs.

Addressing the human side of education, Day Four (July 16) focuses on “Student Mentorship & Holistic Well-being.” Dr. Muhammed KV, Assistant Professor, School of Pedagogical Sciences, Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, will discuss effective mentoring practices, student success strategies, and the importance of promoting emotional and academic well-being within higher education institutions.

The programme concludes on July 17 with a session on Outcome-Based Education (OBE) by Mr. Sajeer KM, Operational & Relationship Manager, EMBASE PRO Suite. The session highlights designing learning outcomes, CO-PO mapping, assessment methods, and continuous improvement practices that align with modern accreditation standards.

Each day also features welcome addresses, interactive discussions, and opportunities for participants to engage directly with resource persons. The sessions are scheduled at 1:30 PM, except for the final day, which begins at 2:00 PM, and are being held at the AV Hall of MES Arts & Science College.

By bringing together expertise from academia, research, legal practice, and educational technology, the Faculty Development Programme reflects the institution’s commitment to enhancing faculty competencies and promoting quality in higher education. The initiative reinforces the role of educators as innovators, mentors, and lifelong learners capable of preparing students for an increasingly dynamic future.
