🎓 Student Induction Programme 2025 organized at St. Thomas College Thrissur (Autonomous)

Welcoming the Future: A Holistic Start for UG Students

St. Thomas College (Autonomous), Thrissur, conducted its Student Induction Programme for first-year UG students from June 23 to June 30, 2025. The week-long orientation aimed to support students in transitioning smoothly into college life while embracing the ethos and culture of the institution.

Goals of the Induction Week

The programme was thoughtfully designed to:

• Help students adapt to the new academic environment
• Introduce them to the institution’s value system
• Promote bonding between peers and faculty
• Encourage self-reflection and emotional well-being

The induction week was inaugurated with addresses by Principal Dr. Martin K A and Executive Manager Rev. Fr. Biju Panengaden, who welcomed the freshers and emphasized the transformative journey ahead.

• Explanation of examination procedures and evaluation system

• Orientation on placement and training services
• Introduction to NCC and NSS units to build leadership and service skills

🧠 Mental Health & Emotional Well-being

• Special sessions on mental health awareness, emotional growth, and team building helped students manage stress and build resilience.

🚫 Observing International Anti-Drug Day

As part of the International Day Against Drug Abuse, Excise Zonal Officers Mr. Venugopal Kurup and Mr. Appu led an awareness session, reminding students of the dangers of substance abuse and the importance of making responsible choices.

The induction programme reflected the college’s belief that higher education should go beyond academics. It should nurture responsible individuals who contribute meaningfully to society and nature, while also preparing them for professional success.
