Medicinal Plant Garden known as MP garden is well maintained by the Dept of Botany Mercy College Palakkad. As a part of diamond Jubilee celebrations of Mercy College, K Santhakumari, Kongad MLA, Pramila Sasidharan, Municipal Chair person, Mini Babu, Ward member and Kairali TV reporter Dr M A Lal have planted tree saplings of medicinal value in the MP garden on 26th September 2024. Also, in connection with these celebrations, Botany department have conducted One Day international Seminar on 27th September 2024 inaugurated by Our principal Dr Sr Jorry T F and the resource person Dr Karuppusamy Arunachalam, Visiting Professor, Faculty of Medicine, UFMA, Brazil who have delivered talk on Ethnopharmacological research and Perspectives which enriched the thoughts of the listeners with research aptitude. Furthermore Botany department have organized a grand EXPO exhibition on the name GRANDE-FLORA on 27th and 28th September 2024which was open to the public. Department had arranged various stalls for exhibiting millets, Terrarium, Medicinal Plants that was supported by CIMH, Kanjikode, Kudumbasree seed sale, Mersery and Food fest organized by Botany students. In addition, sale counter were kept for sales on various outdoor and indoor plants, vegetables and flower seeds and Terrarium. The Exhibition programme gained a special attention as it was more exposed to all sorts of public.
