Tarun Sabha Organized at St. Thomas College

On October 8, 2024, St. Thomas College hosted the Tarun Sabha, a Model Youth Parliament session, at Menachery Hall, organized by the Department of Political Science and History and the Electoral Literacy Club under the National Youth Parliament Scheme, Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, Government of India. The session began with a welcome address from Dr. Blessy Paul C., followed by a Presidential Address by Rev.Dr.Martin K A. Session was inaugurated by keynote address from M. Peethambaran Master, who emphasized Mahatma Gandhi’s ideals of democracy and the importance of youth engagement in governance.

Participants discussed critical topics such as Agriculture, Education, Foreign Affairs, and Gender Issues, showcasing their insights through structured parliamentary proceedings, including Question Hour and Legislative Business. The event aimed to empower young leaders to actively contribute to their communities and the nation by fostering democratic values and critical thinking.
