The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of St. Thomas College (Autonomous), Thrissur, organized a Faculty Orientation Programme on “Academic Excellence through Curriculum Enhancement” on 4th October 2025 at Kavipratibha Hall.

The event focused on advancing teaching quality and improving curriculum design to meet the changing educational needs of Kerala’s higher education system.

The session began with a prayer by Dr. Annmary K. A., Assistant Professor in Physics, setting a reflective tone.

• Welcome Address: Delivered by Dr. Anil George K, Vice Principal, who stressed the importance of continuous faculty development.
• Presidential Address: Rev. Dr. Martin K. A., Principal, highlighted how curriculum enhancement ensures academic quality and relevance in today’s education landscape.

💡 First Technical Session – Academic Excellence through Curriculum Enhancement

The first technical session, “Academic Excellence through Curriculum Enhancement,” was led by Dr. Binu Thomas, Professor, Department of Computer Applications, Marian College, Kuttikkanam.

He discussed how curriculum frameworks can be aligned with industry trends and academic objectives to equip students with relevant skills. His insights encouraged teachers to innovate and integrate practical perspectives in teaching.

🌱 Second Technical Session – Transforming Curriculum for Student-Centric Learning

The second session, “Transforming Curriculum for Student-Centric Learning,” was presented by Dr. Rajimol A, Associate Professor & Head, Department of Computer Applications, Marian College, Kuttikkanam.

She emphasized the importance of Outcome-Based Education (OBE) and active learning strategies. Dr. Rajimol encouraged faculty members to create interactive classrooms that prioritize student participation and experiential learning.
