The Department of Psychology at St. Thomas College (Autonomous), Thrissur, successfully inaugurated its highly anticipated National Conference in Psychology today, 29 January 2026. The two-day event, titled “The Art of Research and Publication in Social Sciences,” is being held at the Kaviprathibha Hall. The inauguration ceremony was attended by students and faculty who gathered to celebrate this academic milestone.

Focus on Research Excellence in Social Sciences

This National Conference in Psychology aims to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical publication skills. Because the landscape of social sciences is evolving, such workshops are crucial for aspiring researchers. The conference focuses on providing participants with the tools necessary to navigate the complex world of academic publishing.

Furthermore, the event includes a “Call for Papers” to encourage original contributions to the field. To accommodate participants from across the country, the organizers have also offered virtual presentation options. This inclusivity ensures that geographical barriers do not limit the exchange of psychological insights.

Expert Sessions and Distinguished Resource Persons

Following the inauguration, the first technical session was led by Dr. Santhosh K.R., an Associate Professor from Christ (Deemed to be University), Bangalore. He shared his expertise on the nuances of research methodology. Consequently, participants gained a clearer understanding of how to structure their findings for high-impact journals.

The conference will continue tomorrow, 30 January 2026, with sessions featuring other esteemed academics:

  • Dr. Lijo K.J., Assistant Professor at Rajagiri College of Social Sciences, Cochin.
  • Dr. Fathima Bushra Saliha K.P., Assistant Professor at Farook College.

A Vibrant Academic Atmosphere

Starting at 9:30 a.m., the atmosphere in Kaviprathibha Hall is charged with intellectual curiosity. These National Conference in Psychology sessions provide a vital forum for networking and mentorship. Students are actively engaging with the speakers to learn the “art” of converting a raw thesis into a polished publication.

In conclusion, the successful inauguration marks the beginning of a transformative journey for the attendees. St. Thomas College continues to lead in fostering a culture of research and academic integrity through such initiatives.
