An Interactive Career Seminar on Business & Start-ups Organized by Internal Quality Assurance Cell, District Employment Exchange Research Department of Commerce, IEDC & IIC, St. Thomas College (Autonomous), Thrissur on 29th August 2024 in Medlycott Hall of the College

The programme began with a prayer by Ms. Sibiya Rose K B, followed by a welcome speech by Smt. Sameera N V, District Employment Officer, Thrissur. The presidential address was delivered by Rev. Dr. Martin K A, Principal, St. Thomas College.

Rev. Fr. Biju Panengaden, Executive Manager, inaugurated the seminar, emphasizing the importance of entrepreneurship and innovation in today’s economy. Felicitations were offered by Dr. Divya George, IQAC Coordinator, and Dr. Daisland Thattil, HoD, Department of Commerce.

The keynote session on Business & Start-ups was delivered by Mr. Christo George, Chairman & Managing Director, Hykon India Ltd. He shared his personal experiences and insights on entrepreneurship, highlighting the challenges and opportunities in the current business landscape.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Sri Shaju Lonappan, Employment Officer, Vocational Guidance.

The seminar aimed to inspire and motivate students to explore career opportunities in business and start-ups, providing them with valuable insights and practical advice from industry experts. The event was well-attended by students, from St. Thomas College, (Autonomous) Thrissur, Vimala College (Autonomous), Thrissur, MES Asmabi College, Kerala Varma College, Thrissur,  faculty members, and staff, and was deemed a resounding success. Overall, the seminar was a valuable addition to the college’s career guidance initiatives.
