The St. Thomas College (Autonomous), Thrissur, hosted a heartfelt St. Thomas Faculty Farewell on Tuesday, January 27, 2026. The ceremony began at 9:00 a.m. to celebrate the long-standing service of two distinguished leaders. Faculty members and students gathered at the campus to honor Prof. (Dr.) Biju John M. and Dr. Saju M. I. as they approach their retirement dates.

Legacies Celebrated at the St. Thomas Faculty Farewell

This retirement event recognized the deep impact of two academic stalwarts. Prof. (Dr.) Biju John M. has served the Department of Commerce since December 1995. As the Dean of Arts & Humanities, he guided the college through significant growth over three decades. Because of his visionary leadership, many academic programs reached new heights of excellence.

Similarly, the St. Thomas Faculty Farewell highlighted the work of Dr. Saju M. I., who joined the institution in 2009. He served as an Associate Professor in Mathematics and as the Dean of Student Affairs. During his tenure, he prioritized student welfare and academic integrity. These leaders helped the college maintain its prestigious A++ NAAC rating.

Honoring Years of Academic Excellence

The college patron, Mar Andrews Thazhath, and the manager, Mar Tony Neelankavil, presided over the gathering. During the St. Thomas Faculty Farewell, they expressed deep gratitude for the retirees’ professional integrity. Furthermore, colleagues shared touching stories of mentorship and friendship. Consequently, the session became a moving tribute to their shared history.

The event concluded with the presentation of mementos as tokens of appreciation. While these professors leave their formal roles, their influence remains embedded in the college culture. In conclusion, the entire community wishes them a peaceful retirement.
