Nano Crib Competition organized @ St. Thomas College (Autonomous), Thrissur

As part of the Christmas celebrations, the Entrepreneurship Development Club of St. Thomas College (Autonomous), Thrissur, in collaboration with the Institutions Innovation Council and the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre, hosted the Innovative Nano Crib Competition at Gandhi Smrithi on December 10, 2024. The main goal of the competition was to nurture teamwork among students while boosting their innovation skills. Participants were challenged to design and create cribs within specific dimensions, with a strong emphasis on eco-friendliness and zero plastic usage. The competition encouraged students to bring their creative ideas to life, resulting in the creation of charming and environmentally sustainable cribs. Ms. Alisha Maria, Ms. Helna Konnikara, and Sanjay P B, as student coordinators, were instrumental in ensuring the seamless organization of the competition. The true highlight of the event was the students’ remarkable ability to design and create eco-friendly nano cribs, reflecting their strong commitment to sustainability and innovative thinking. In the end, the competition successfully fulfilled its goal of fostering teamwork, enhancing creative skills, and encouraging eco-conscious practices among the student community. The event was meticulously organized under the expert guidance of our devoted faculty coordinators: Dr. Bini, Ms. Linni Wilson, Dr. Sindhu George, and Dr. Jilna John. Alwin P S, a student from the 4th semester BSc Botany program, took home the first prize for his outstanding crib design. The second prize was awarded to Bhadra Balan and Rose Mariya Sebi, both from the first-year M.Sc Botany program. The competition, held at Gandhi Smrithi from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm, saw five teams participating enthusiastically, each showcasing their creativity and commitment to eco-friendly practices.
