The programme was organised by the SPIC MACAY Chapter of the college. The event featured the renowned Ustaad Inayat Ali Khan Bandanawazi and the acclaimed Bandanawazi Brothers. Their soulful performance introduced students to India’s rich Sufi musical tradition. SPIC MACAY at Christ College Promotes India’s Cultural Heritage The SPIC MACAY Chapter of Christ College has actively promoted India’s classical and folk traditions since 2017. It regularly organises cultural programmes featuring diverse art forms from across the country. These initiatives help students experience India’s rich cultural heritage firsthand. They also encourage appreciation for traditional music and performing arts. College Leadership Inaugurates the Programme The programme was inaugurated in the presence of Principal Rev. Dr. Jolly Andrews CMI. Smt. Jincy S. R., Faculty Coordinator of SPIC MACAY, delivered the welcome address. Ms. Vrindha Varrier, Student Coordinator, proposed the vote of thanks. Students Explore the Spiritual Legacy of Sufi Qawwali The lecture demonstration introduced students to the spiritual and musical heritage of Sufi Qawwali. This centuries-old devotional tradition is rooted in the mystical teachings of Sufism. The artists combined soulful performances with meaningful explanations. They highlighted timeless values of love, peace, harmony, and universal brotherhood. Students experienced both the music and its deeper spiritual message. The session became an enriching cultural journey for everyone present.
