Carmel College Mala Hosts Seminar on Intellectual Property Rights to Promote Innovation and Creativity

Department of Business Administration, Carmel College (Autonomous), Mala, organised a seminar on “Intellectual Property Rights: Protecting Innovation and Creativity” to enhance students’ understanding of the importance of safeguarding intellectual assets.

The session was led by Adv. Mini Varghese K., who delivered an informative and engaging talk on various aspects of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR). She explained the significance of copyrights, patents, trademarks, and other forms of intellectual property in protecting innovation, creativity, and original works. The resource person also highlighted the legal framework governing IPR and emphasised the need for individuals, entrepreneurs, and businesses to be aware of their intellectual property rights in today’s knowledge-driven economy.

The seminar provided students with valuable insights into the role of IPR in fostering innovation and encouraging creativity. The interactive session helped participants develop a better understanding of the legal protection available for intellectual creations and its relevance in academic, professional, and entrepreneurial contexts.
