In a commendable step towards student empowerment and community well-being,
St. Mary’s College, Thrissur organized a hands-on CPR Training Program titled “Learn, Act, Save” on 15th July 2025.

This life-saving initiative was conducted by the Department of Zoology and NSS Units 44 & 220, in association with Daya General Hospital, Viyyur.

Expert Resource Team from Daya Hospital

The training was led by a highly experienced team of emergency healthcare professionals:

  • Dr. Shaiju Vilsan – Emergency Medicine Physician
  • C. A. Abdul Basheer – Rescue Team Resource Person
  • Ms. Milkha P Joy – Staff Nurse

They provided detailed demonstrations and supervised interactive CPR sessions to help students gain confidence in responding to emergencies.

  • Recognizing cardiac arrest symptoms
  • Performing chest compressions effectively
  • Assisting during medical emergencies
