CELLUXA 2025 – St. Mary’s College Thrissur Inaugurates Biotechnology Association with Inspiring Talks

Thrissur | 8 August 2025 – The Department of Biotechnology at St. Mary’s College (Autonomous), Thrissur inaugurated its association for the academic year 2025–2026 with the launch of CELLUXA – Where Cell Meets Brilliance. The event aimed to foster innovation, research, and collaboration among budding biotechnologists in Kerala.

Association Inauguration

The programme began with the inauguration of the Biotechnology Association. Dr. Bijoy C, Assistant Professor, Department of Zoology, Christ College (Autonomous), Irinjalakuda, served as the Chief Guest.

He delivered an engaging expert talk on “Fireflies: Jewels of the Night”, captivating the audience with insights into the fascinating world of bioluminescent insects.

Journal Club Inauguration

The event also featured the Journal Club Inauguration, led by Dr. Deepa G. Muricken, HOD & Associate Professor, Department of Biochemistry, St. Mary’s College (Autonomous), Thrissur.

Her session titled “Smart Composting: A Biochemist’s Journey from Lab to Patent” highlighted sustainable innovations and the journey from scientific research to patent success.
