Honouring Hiroshima Day with Paper Cranes and a Message of Peace

In remembrance of Hiroshima Day, the National Service Scheme (NSS) unit at SB College carried out a heartfelt peace campaign at the college main gate. The symbolic event took place at 8:45 AM, where NSS volunteers distributed hand-folded paper cranes to students, staff, and passersby.

This small but powerful act was a tribute to the lives lost and a call to embrace peace, hope, and humanity in todayโ€™s world.

Why Paper Cranes?

The paper crane is a powerful international symbol of peace, inspired by Sadako Sasaki, a young Hiroshima survivor. The NSS volunteers aimed to spread awareness about the consequences of war and the importance of non-violence, particularly among youth.
