The Department of Hindi organised the festival as part of the college’s Hindi Day celebrations on Monday, 14th September. The programme began at 9 a.m. at Kavi Pratibha Hall. It aimed to promote Hindi while strengthening the spirit of national integration among students. The event also encouraged students to explore creative expression through social media platforms. It brought together language, literature and digital creativity in an engaging campus celebration. ‘Jhalak’ Reels Festival Encourages Student Creativity The Reels Festival gave students a platform to express their ideas and talents through Hindi. Participants also showcased their appreciation for the language through creative reel presentations. The initiative highlighted how students can use digital platforms for meaningful creative expression. It also connected Hindi language and literature with contemporary social media trends. For Kerala’s vibrant higher education community, such campus initiatives offer students new ways to develop their talents. The programme also reflected the creative energy of students at St. Thomas College, Thrissur. Students Add Music and Entertainment to Hindi Day The celebrations included musical performances that entertained the audience. Students sang popular Bollywood songs during the programme. The combination of reels, language and music created an engaging atmosphere at the college. It also made the Hindi Day celebration more interactive for the student community. The programme celebrated Hindi while giving students opportunities to participate beyond traditional academic activities. Cash Prizes Distributed to Reels Festival Winners A prize distribution ceremony formed an important part of the programme. Cash prizes were presented to the winners of the Reels Festival. Dr. Vimala K. John, Vice-Principal of St. Thomas College (Autonomous), Thrissur, distributed the prizes. She also felicitated the winners for their creativity and outstanding performances. The recognition encouraged students to continue exploring innovative approaches to language and cultural expression. Hindi Department Leads Successful Campus Programme The event was coordinated by Dr. Rani Jasmine Thomas N, Head of the Department of Hindi, Dr. Shemi John and Ms. Abha S. V. Their dedicated efforts and guidance contributed to the successful conduct of the programme.
