The Research Forum of the P.G. & Research Department of Commerce, Kumbalathu Sankupillai Memorial Devaswom Board College (KSMDB), Sasthamcotta, Kollam, is organizing the one-day workshop. The workshop will focus on literature review, bibliometrics, research trends, and systematic research methods. KSMDB College Research Workshop on August 14 The workshop is titled “Building Research Foundations: Literature Review, Bibliometrics, and Research Trends.” It will be held on Friday, August 14, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The venue is the Commerce Seminar Hall, Department of Commerce, KSMDB College, Sasthamcotta. The programme aims to provide practical research learning opportunities. It will also help participants strengthen their understanding of systematic literature review and research trend analysis. Research Workshop Resource Person Deepak Mohan, Research Scholar at Sanatana Dharma College, Alappuzha, will serve as the resource person. The session will combine research concepts with practical, hands-on learning. Participants will explore several tools and methods used in contemporary academic research. Key Topics Covered in the Workshop The one-day research workshop will cover important areas of research methodology and analysis. Participants will learn about: Literature Review and Systematic Literature Review (SLR) Scopus and Web of Science search techniques Boolean search strings PRISMA guidelines Bibliometric Analysis using Bibliometrix and Biblioshiny Science Mapping and Research Trends Thematic Analysis and Research Gap Identification ADO and TCCM Frameworks Practical 19-Milestone Roadmap for conducting an SLR These topics can help participants develop stronger research foundations. They also offer practical guidance for conducting structured academic research. Hands-On Learning for Kerala Researchers The workshop has a strong practical focus. Participants will work with research tools and approaches during the hands-on sessions. They will explore bibliometric analysis through Bibliometrix and Biblioshiny. They will also learn about databases such as Scopus and Web of Science. The programme will further introduce PRISMA guidelines and Boolean search strings.
