The Electoral Literacy Club of Nirmala College of Arts and Science successfully organized the seminar on 6 August 2026 at 10:30 AM. The programme was held at the NCAS Seminar Hall. The session focused on the Indian Constitution and the role of informed citizens in a democracy. It also encouraged students to understand their rights, duties, and responsibilities. Electoral Literacy Club Organizes Constitution Seminar The seminar was organized by the Electoral Literacy Club of Nirmala College of Arts and Science, Meloor. The initiative aimed to strengthen students’ awareness of constitutional principles and electoral participation. It also provided an opportunity for students to engage with important democratic values. Such programmes help young people understand the foundations of Indian democracy. They also encourage responsible and informed participation in the democratic process. Expert Session on the Indian Constitution The session was led by Mr. Kannan K. N., Assistant Professor, PG & Research Department of Political Science, Sree Kerala Varma College, Thrissur. The resource person delivered an engaging and insightful talk on several important constitutional topics. Students gained valuable insights into the principles that shape Indian democracy. The session covered: The Indian Constitution Constitutional values Fundamental rights and duties Democratic principles Informed and responsible citizenship Electoral participation The discussion helped students connect constitutional principles with their responsibilities as citizens. Students Gain Awareness of Constitutional Values The seminar provided students with a deeper understanding of the Constitution.
