Dr. Moideen C Wins Best Paper Award at National Research Conference & Kerala Higher Education Expo 2026

Kerala celebrates another proud academic moment.

Dr. Moideen C of St. Mary’s College, Manarcad has won the Best Paper Presentation Award in Social Science at the prestigious National Research Conference & Kerala Higher Education Expo 2026.

The event was organised by the Higher Education Department, Government of Kerala. It highlighted research excellence across the state.

Award-Winning Research on Zheng He’s Voyages

Dr. Moideen received the honour for his research paper titled:

“Locating Chinese Trade and Travel: Tracing the Fifteenth-Century Voyages of Zheng He in South and Southeast Asia.”

His study explores the historic maritime journeys of Zheng He.

Moreover, it examines trade routes and cultural exchanges between China and South Asia.

The paper stood out for:

• Strong historical evidence
• Clear research methodology
• Global relevance
• Insightful analysis of maritime trade

As a result, the jury selected it as the Best Paper in Social Science.
